Works on rear wheel
Hooked it up to the rear wheel of my mountain bike that is on the Sportneer Magnetic Trainer.I had to mount the wheel sensor that goes on the rear chain stay of my mountain bike with a piece of hard foam that I held in place with ties. The spoke sensor was too far away before I did that.Mounted the computer on the cross member right next to the handlebar centre. I would have preferred to have had a longer wire but didn't feel like cutting the wire to lengthen it.I've done 60 miles so far and everything seems to work fine, even when the temp is -5C.I doubt if the foam setup will work if I use the bike on roads, but I can take it of if needed as the bike already has a front wheel mounted computer. All in all I'm happy with the Cat Eye Velo 7, does everything I need, and I can read it clearly. - Reviewed by Tom Barrette (Revi ewed in Canada on March 14, 2020)
seems OK
Seems to work OK, but it is not on my bike yet, as the weather is too cold, I had a Cateye cycle computer before it worked great for almost 10 yr. placed it up to the wheel and turned wheel by hand, uni records speed and distance, that is all I can say, I loved the other Cateye so purchased this one - Reviewed by Amazon Customer (Reviewed in Canada on October 13, 2019)
Use Youtube to clarify instructions.
Nice compact unit with easy to use button. I do not understand why they could not have given clear set-up instructions considering how huge the multilingual page is. It does not tell you to push the reset button on the back of the unit after every entry. Otherwise it works well. - Reviewed by Nathalia N. (Reviewed in Canada on May 28, 2020)
The computer works well but the sensor is really chubby for a speed bike...
The computer works well, compa red with my Strava and iWatch numbers and they matched. But the sensor is so chubby that I had a hard time fitting it on my bike. I think it might even be touching slightly when I ride because now I can hear a noise... the one I had before it was slim and very tastefully, but this sensor looks cheap and bulky. - Reviewed by Richard Lewis (Reviewed in Canada on April 5, 2020)
Love it. Worked great for rear wheel fluid Trainer
Purchased a fluid Trainer and wanted to see my speed and distance. Took a little trickery but worked great on rear wheel! Not exactly how accurate it is in this configuration but gives me a good baseline. - Reviewed by Newboots (Reviewed in Canada on March 31, 2020)
Wire smire
I know it should matter if it's got a wire, but ultimately you can't tell when all's said and done. Great visual. Not overly complex. Gives the data I want. Reliable and consistent. - Reviewed by Valérie Vas (Reviewed in Canada on August 15, 2019)
It does what it says it does
I can't complain honestly. It comes with everything you need to install and it works well. It's easily readable and haven't had it ever die.
